Last year in Season 1, I had the pleasure to speak to serial Irish adventurer Jim Schofield about his proposed trip to sail solo across the Atlantic. When we spoke Jim was building a 19-foot wooden boat in this garage in Blessington Co Wicklow. Jim named the boat Molly Claire after his wife and daughter. It was hand-made from plywood and made with blood, sweat, and tears. Jim had no engine, no satellite communications, basic supplies, and very limited solo sailing experience when he set off on Nov 17th, 2021. The great news is that Jim did it.
